Why Do They Want to Die Like Kurt Cobain?

Singer Lana Del Rey, 27, says she'd like to die.
“Born to Die” singer Lana Del Rey told The Guardian, UK, this week that she wished she was already dead, like Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse. Not that she plans to check out, but she’s just tired of doing the same old same old without hitting it big. She envies the members of the “27” club, even though she swears she doesn’t plan to join them.

27 is a Good Age for Dying [to Self]

Lana, I died when I was 26. I went under the waters of Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts as Carlene Hill, daughter of George and Edith, and came up as Carlene Hill, daughter of the Ruler of the Universe. I can’t tell you everything has been easy since then — far from it. I can’t even tell you that life has become a straightforward progression toward the kind of “success” the world measures. But I’d rather be living the challenges I have faced with the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit than trying to live them on my own.

Maybe it’s time for Lana Del Rey to die and the young woman God intends her to be to start living.

God bless all the sweet, disappointed young women and men who read this. God has plans for you. Give God a chance.
