God’s Plans Might Take You Down a New Road

The “Pocket Purpose Book” is taking form! More than 1,000 Bible verses offering God’s direction for how to love God and love others. Here’s one little piece:

Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Matt. 10:39

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it but whoever loses his life for me will find it. Matt. 16: 25

Joseph Campbell, a scholar of myths and legends, said:

‘You must give up the life you planned in order to live the life that is waiting for you.”

In some ways, this is what Jesus also tells us. The life Jesus has set before us is not the same as the life we may have anticipated. Our efforts to protect the life we planned for ourselves will not succeed. But as we allow God to give us the life that God has planned instead, we will find our truest life.

Working on this book is the most fun I’ve had in years … and it’s miles from anything I might have asked or imagined! Has God ever jumped you out of your comfort zone into your perfectly suited zone?
