God gives you purpose as you speak

Angry BabyWith every word, you can convey a gift from God to another person, or tear down the work God is doing in their life. It’s your choice. So choose well.

… speaking truthfully … and carefully

“If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.”  (James 1:26)

“Whoever would love life and see good days he must keep his tongue from evil and
his lips from deceitful speech.” (1 Peter 3: 10)

“If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.”. (1 Peter 4:11)

“… above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with
any other oath; but your yes is to be yes, and your no, no … ” (James 5:12)

… speaking well of others

” … rid yourselves of …slander of every kind.” (1 Peter 2:1)

“Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be
judged … ” (James 5:9)

“You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people … I am the LORD.” (Leviticus 19:16)

“Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or
judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge
the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.” (James 4:11)
